Bucharest University of Economic Studies - BUES (in Romanian: Academia de Studii Economice din București - ASE) is an internationally recognized university, located in Bucharest, the capital city of Romania. Established in 1913, by Royal Decree, BUES is a public university, accredited by the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education with a high degree of confidence, ranked as research intensive and education university ("A" class) in the national ranking conducted by the National Education Ministry in cooperation with the European Universities Association. BUES is a specialized university, the largest provider of education and competence in Romania and one of the largest in Central and Eastern Europe in the areas of economics, business, public management and administration, modern applied languages, sociology.

The vision of Bucharest University of Economic Studies is to gain recognition as leader in the social sciences education and research field, in Central and South-Eastern Europe and to contribute to the development of an intelligent, competitive and sustainable economy and an efficient public administration. The mission of Bucharest University of Economic Studies is to create and develop skills in the social sciences field, capable of satisfying the requirements of a competitive economy. In order to achieve its goals, Bucharest University of Economic Studies has set a series of objectives: - design of a diversified, innovative and flexible portfolio of bachelor, master and doctorate study programmes and a creative and stimulating learning environment; -support for advanced scientific research in the social sciences field and development of ideas and theories to contribute to the competitive and sustainable economy; - provision of a portfolio of creative services for the community to support its economic, social and cultural progress; - development of an academic leadership capable of stimulating and developing the cognitive, emotional and spiritual capital of the university. The process of reaching these objectives is based on continuous quality improvement, involvement and motivation of human capital and a student oriented approach.
