Tulane Law School is on the main, uptown campus of the University. About Tulane University Law SchoolTulane Law School is the 12th oldest law school in the United States. Tulane is particularly well known for its strength in international and comparative law, with the Eason-Weinmann Center for Comparative Law adding depth to international and comparative curriculum through speaker series and symposia. There is also a student-run Tulane Journal of International & Comparative Law. LLM students in the Energy & Environment program have the opportunity to work with Tulane?s Institute for Environmental Law & Policy. The Institute conducts policy research and provides technical support to governments and multilateral institutions in the areas of environmental protection and sustainable international development. Students may also become involved with the Tulane Environmental Law Journal. Tulane?s Maritime Law Center coordinates the many maritime programs at the Law School and also provides support for students in the LLM in Admiralty program. The Tulane Maritime Law Journal is one of the pre-eminent publications in the field. Graduate Courses of StudyTulane Law School offers six advanced degree programs which provide lawyers from around the world the opportunity to take advantage of a curriculum with exceptional breadth and depth. * LL.M. in Admiralty * LL.M. in American Business Law * LL.M. in Energy and Environment * LL.M. in International and Comparative Law * General LL.M. * Ph.D. in Law The LL.M. programs require completion of 24 credit hours. International students arrive in August for the orientation course and graduate the following May. The LL.M. programs typically enroll 60 students The Ph.D. in Law requires two years of study beyond the LL.M. This includes preparation for comprehensive exams and the dissertation phase. The Ph.D. program is limited to six students each year. Fast Facts * Five different LLM programs are offered to students who hold the first law degree. * 24 credit hours, over the course of one academic year * 75 places * All courses are taught in English. * Scholarships are available, typically covering a portion of tuition. * Summer orientation course (Introduction to US Law) typically begins on or about July 28 and concludes the week before the fall semester begins. * The regular academic year begins in late August and concludes in May. Graduation ceremonies are held the third week of May.
