Atyrau Oil and Gas University is the industrial university orientated on business professional competencies and R&D business researches. The university is integrally implementing professional internship to the routine educational process. Our students involve to study and work either at university’s industrial field or at the training infrastructure closer to real production conditions of company’s sites.

The goal of the university is to bring industrial education and science to the campus, to companies and to society.  The University as a scientific, technical and educational center uses advanced methods and technologies which were given by industrial professionals to teach and train with flexible thinking and practical knowledge, research and innovative entrepreneurship skills that meet modern industrial requirements.

Our mission is education and research in engineering, science and society to solve the most pressing technical and technological problems, especially those related to the Earth, energy and the environment.

The University offers 16 undergraduate degree programs, 12 graduate programs, 2 PhD doctoral programs and 5 MBA programs with immersion in professional tasks, technical and technological problems of the oil and gas and petrochemical industries, as well as in related and service areas of these economic sectors.

Our strategic development directions support the high-tech development of the region and are aimed at:

Despite the University's historical involvement in the educational and scientific agenda of hydrocarbon energy and chemical engineering, the University has adopted a Roadmap for a Net Zero Carbon Campus by 2033.
