By drawing on economics, politics, cultural studies, and history, we attempt to address questions of poverty, inequalities (based on gender, ethnicity and power), conflict, migration and globalisation. We focus on the interconnections between the global South and North in responding to these challenges, especially the alleviation of poverty and response to natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies. Our course gives you the skills and knowledge to pursue careers that give you ultimate job-satisfaction - working for positive change in the world - such as working behind the scenes of humanitarian aid, undertaking policy work for foreign affairs offices, or working for major international charities.
