Memorial’s Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures recognizes that interest in pursuing advanced studies in German may be stimulated by a wide variety of personal and professional experiences. It welcomes, therefore, students with diverse backgrounds and a wide range of goals. The cultural and linguistic knowledge acquired in German studies at the graduate level prepares students for employment, further study, or both.
