PERSONAL STATEMENT
The personal statement is an important part of your application and is your chance to tell us about your aims in music and why it interests you. Your ability to communicate effectively is important, so the quality of your writing is a factor in how we make our decision. In particular, we will be looking for you to show a genuine interest in music, demonstrated by one or more of the following:
learning an instrument either taught or self-taught
extra-curricular music activities at school, college or in the community
performing music as a soloist, a band member or forming a band
composition for different band formats
interest in scoring music to picture
