About Jizzakh State Pedagogical University
All the studies are held on-spot. Jizzakh State Pedagogical University was established in 1974 and today is recognized as one of the largest pedagogical higher education institutions in Uzbekistan.
The University comprises 9 faculties, more than 31 departments, and around 70 undergraduate and graduate academic programs. Currently, over 16,000 students are enrolled, supported by more than 700 highly qualified faculty members.
The educational process is organized on the basis of the modern credit–module system, the HEMIS digital platform, and electronic learning resources. The University is distinguished by its well-established academic schools, modern laboratories, and strong technical infrastructure.
The institution was founded in the 1970s in Jizzakh through the personal initiative of the prominent statesman and public figure Sharof Rashidov. In 1989, the institute was named after the renowned Uzbek writer Abdulla Qodiriy. In 2022, by the initiative and decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev, it was granted official university status, marking a significant stage in its institutional development.
Today, Jizzakh State Pedagogical University is actively engaged not only at the national level but also internationally. It maintains effective cooperation through joint academic programs and research projects with leading universities in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and several other countries.
In the 2024–2025 academic year, the University celebrated its 50th anniversary. The jubilee events were attended by nearly 100 scholars from foreign and domestic higher education institutions. On this occasion, a five-volume historical publication entitled Steps Toward the University was released, serving as an important academic and educational resource for scholars, educators, students, and the wider public. Over the past fifty years, the University has nurtured generations of distinguished scholars, educators, and intellectuals, affirming its role as a respected center of knowledge and enlightenment.
