About TRAKYA UNIVERSITY

TRAKYA UNIVERSITY was established in 1982 in Edirne, Thrace region of Turkey. Edirne has borders with Bulgaria and Greece, the city is in a strategic geopolitical point which acts as a bridge between Balkan countries, Europe and Turkey.
Our University train nearly 41.000 students with over 1.901 academic staff and with a fully equipped infrastructure in 14 faculties, 4 colleges, a state conservatory, 10 vocational schools and 38 research centers. With education qualities in the international standards, our University offers various scholarship opportunities for our students especially with our "Bir Öğrenci de Sen Okut" (Educate a Student) project besides many accomodation alternatives and health services. In addition , we support personal and social development for our students by providing free courses such as language courses, personal development courses, computer courses and Turkish language courses. We have organized more than 50 activities up till today.
Our university provides material and spiritual support to its students in the terms of academic ,social, cultural, artistics and sports. The biggest library in the Thrace region , which is open 24/7, serves under roof of Trakya University. With scholarship and part-time employment opportunities, our university mobilizes all its opportunities for its students to continue their education and career lives without difficulties. Our students can accomodate in the dormitories of Credit and Dormitories Institution located in different locations of the city. They can also accomodate in affordable apartments, dormitories or rental houses which are located at central points of the city.
Trakya University which was awarded the "Most Serving Educational Institution to the Balkans" offers an international education opportunity with its 5.180 international students from 79 countries, 3000 of whom are from Balkans.
Our University which brings Balkan Universities together in the field of social, academic, artistic and sportive activities, is a founder of Balkan Universities Association. Trakya University which is a member of permanent board of directory, permanent general secretary, provides student exchange mobility with Balkan universities within the framework of the union.

Our university can make its name mark not only with scientific developments but also with cultural, artistic and sportive achievements. With our nearly 90 students groups we organize many activites every year. Trakya University aims to research and control environmental problems especially in land, water and soil pollution in our region and to make solutions , therefore it collaborates with industry facilities, local governments, non-govermental organizations ,public institutions and organizations.

With our barrier-free University programme we aim to provide students with disabilities at our university equal access to the facilites and services of the university, creating an environment supportive of disabled students' academic, social ,perconal, vocational development.
Enez Seaside Camping Area , The Complex of Sultan Bayezid II Health Museum, Meric Riverside facilities also serve in the body our our university. The museum has received Europen Council Museum Award in 2004, and it is in Unesco World Heritage Tentative Candidate List now.
Our university has a 1100 patient capacity Medical Faculty Hospital which serves with its all opportunities in and outside of the country.
