The Department of Public Administration supports the efficient and effective administration of government and non-profit organizations and better governance in Egypt and the rest of the Arab region. It prepares students for leadership and management positions in public service. The program offers academic-based professional development education to strengthen the provision of public services in society. It provides students with the knowledge, skills, and values for functioning with distinction throughout their careers at different levels of responsibility within government, or in non-profit organizations, international organizations, public and private, academia or in the private sector.
Through completing coursework from several academic departments, students acquire skills in report writing, research, communication, leadership, problem-solving, information gathering, quantitative analysis, and working in teams as they study major public policy issues. The program provides both hands-on and interdisciplinary training as well as the choice of a wide variety of electives. Graduates exemplify dedication to professionalism in public service, seek intellectual engagement to enhance workplace practice and are committed to leadership and lifelong learning and most of all to building a better future for society in Egypt and the rest of the Arab region.
