The Maritime University of Szczecin (MUS) conducts research in
different fields and disciplines of applied science. The MUS has a long
tradition of providing education for maritime industry professionals.
University’s curriculum includes 16 fields of studies at 5 faculties and
it strives to develop new ones.
MUS conducts research in numerous fields, including innovative
transport, safety of navigation, information technologies in maritime
industry, mechanical engineering, and mechatronics. During the research,
MUS’ scientists focus also on environmental issues. The main goal is to
provide modern education based on the latest technologies,
environmental awareness and research for the benefit of business.
The University also ensures training and accommodation facilities for
students.
The University also owns a research and training vessel Nawigator XXI,
as well as training centers in Szczecin and Kolobrzeg which provide
professional courses for seafarers and are fully compliant with the
STCW convention.
The Maritime University of Szczecin is a member of the International
Maritime Organization Committees and the International Association of
Maritime Universities. The University has lately presented the idea of
the IT Officer with new competences for modern maritime industry. MUS has recently built the Center of Floating Objects which is one of
the largest research and training centers dedicated to innovative ships
in Poland.
