The mission of UMST is to graduate competent, skilled professionals and lifelong learners in an environment that values excellence in the core academic processes of teaching, research, and community engagement. In addition, it aims to offer academic programs that are timely, pertinent, and adaptable in order to satisfy the needs of local, regional, and international communities and to keep up with the world's rapid change.

About UMST

The University of Medical Sciences & Technology (hereinafter referred to as “UMST”), is a private university located in Khartoum, Sudan. UMST was established in 1996 to serve the educational needs of Sudanese, African and Arab students. UMST provides high-quality education, research, and innovative solutions in medical and social sciences fields. It regularly strives to foster innovation and creativity to generate competent and socially responsible professionals who can enhance their community.

UMST University is recognized by: the Ministry of Higher Education and Research in the Sudan, the World Health Organization (WHO), the General Medical Council of the UK, the General Dental Council, UK, the Arab Association Union, and Equivalence of UMST’s Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree in the United States. Furthermore, UMST has various collaborations with different international institutes in the Sudan, Africa, Asia, USA and Europe.

Throughout the years since its foundation, the University has expanded to include "15"  faculties in various disciplines, including; Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Radiological Sciences, Nursing Sciences, Nursing Technology, Anesthesia, Engineering, Computer Science & Information Technology, Printing & Packaging Technology, Business Administration, Mass Communication, Law, and Economic Social & Environmental Studies.

Furthermore, the faculties offers various degrees through its different undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Graduates from these programs are employed by prestigious employers in a range of administrative, clinical, teaching, and research positions, among others, in many countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Oman, New Zealand, Kuwait, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Germany, Bahrain, and many African nations. Furthermore, a quite large number of UMST graduates have passed various professional and competence examinations in many countries outside Sudan.

Moreover, UMST have various Centers & Institutes i.e. Computer Center, Alawia Imam’s Institute, Sudan Education & Development Institute, Sudan Development Institute, Reproductive and Child Health Research Unit, Scientific Research Center, SUMASRI, Medical Radio FM 99.3, Global Conference Center (GCC)

Furthermore, it has a number of affiliated hospitals i.e. Alzaytouna Specialized Hospital, Frontier Diagnostic Center, Yastabshiroon Hospital, and Academy Charity Teaching Hospital.
