About Wasit University

The University of Wasit is located in al Kut , Wasit , Iraq and is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education & .Scientific Research , Iraq . The university was established in January 2003 by bringing together three existing colleges of Al Qadisiyah University (College of Education, College of Economics and Management, and College of Science). In 2006 the university began an expansion plan and added a number of new colleges, departments and centers . The new colleges were the College of Arts , College of Medicine , College of Engineering and the College of Law . Also added was the Department of Physical Education , the Public Central Library of the University , a Cultural Center for women and the Office of Engineering Consultant in the College of Engineering and a Center for Excellence and Creativity . The university has under gone further expansion by adding the College of Education , the College of Agriculture and various new department.
