About Lagos State University of Education

The Lagos State University of Education, the first of its kind was established to meet a felt need for a university that would make a wholesome difference in addressing the educational needs of the citizens. Lagos State University of Education has dual campuses in Oto/Ijanikin and Odo, Noforija, Epe. Lagos.   It is a merger of two erstwhile education colleges established and funded by the Lagos State Government (Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education and Micheal Otedola College of Primary Education). The University came into being with the Lagos State University of Education Law of 2021 passed by the Lagos State House of Assembly. It has approved 66 courses by the National Universities Commission to run B.A.(Ed), B.Sc (Ed), B.Sc,   B.Ed and B.A degree programmes. This university of Education is the first of its kind in Lagos. Its mission and vision is to be a great and dynamic University focused on the attainment of excellence in producing exemplary education and other related discipline professionals who are not only competent in their discipline but also critical thinkers and information technology compliant capable of playing key roles in the laying of a solid foundation for lifelong teaching, learning, and provision of specialised services across all sectors of the economy with particular reference to educational industry and management of the education. To produce outstanding globally acceptable education and related discipline professionals, using an innovative and creative approach through the educational system.  It runs a collegiate system of seven colleges namely: College of Humanities Education, College of Science Education, College of Information and Technology Education, College of Vocational and Technology Education, College of Management and Social Sciences Education, College of Specialised and Professional Education, and College of Language and Communication Education.

Students must pass the University Matriculation Examination conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board
