The Bachelor of Applied Linguistics (English Language) program introduces students to the core theories, methodologies, and key areas of linguistics. In the early stages of the program, the curriculum focuses on equipping students with the essential academic skills and proficiencies needed to succeed at advanced academic levels. The program recognizes that the development of students' language abilities is intrinsically linked to the growth of their fundamental academic skills, such as writing, reading, speaking, and listening. As students progress through the program, they will deepen their understanding of various sub-disciplines within linguistics, including grammar, phonetics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, discourse analysis, and language pedagogy, among others. This will enable them to understand how language and linguistics intersect with and are shaped by different social contexts and types of discourse.

By exploring the underlying principles, frameworks, and analytical methods of linguistics, coupled with opportunities to apply this knowledge in real-world scenarios, students develop the ability to approach problems from multiple angles.
