EUCLID, the official short name for Euclid University (also legally known as Pôle Universitaire Euclide in French), is a specialized intergovernmental university established by multilateral treaty in 2008. Its primary mandate is to train diplomats and civil servants in its field of specialization, namely international relations, sustainable economic development, global health, as well as interfaith and mediation studies. EUCLID also accepts applications from the general public and has established the scholarship programs for special categories such as ECOWAS residents and IGO staff. Since 2011, it has been headquartered in Bangui while maintaining specialized locations in Banjul, Washington DC, and Montpellier. Most EUCLID programs are available in English and French through the university’s online platform called ELEMENTS. Over the years, EUCLID has trained a number of diplomats who have gone on to serve their governments at the highest level including at the United Nations, thereby establishing a cohesive global alumni network. Institutionally, EUCLID is a member of a number of relevant networks and associations including ACUNS, GUNI, HIFA, AAU and AUAP and GRLI.
