QS I∙GAUGE College and University Ratings: India’s First Nationwide Higher Education Rating System

QS I∙GAUGE is a comprehensive and independent rating system for India’s universities and colleges. Consisting of seven primary indicators and five secondary indicators, ranging from Teaching and Learning, Employability and Social Responsibility to Research and Innovation, the QS I∙GAUGE rating provides a unique 360-degree perspective of India’s institutions for higher learning. After the assessment, the institutes are awarded with an overall rating which ranges from Bronze to Diamond+, depending on the number of points achieved through the evaluation.

With 40,000+ Indian institutions of higher learning and many more opening doors every single week, the Indian higher education system is highly dynamic and fast-moving. Though the numbers are staggering, there isn’t enough data regarding the institutions which the students can use to make informed decision regarding their higher education. That’s where QS I∙GAUGE ratings come into the picture. This rating system, which is specially curated for India, will help the students, parents and a diverse set of stakeholders understand the areas an institution is good at and the areas which the institutions needs to work on. By referring to QS I∙GAUGE ratings, students will now be able to see the true and complete picture of an institution before taking admission, rather than after, allowing the students to match their interests with the institutions that are strong in the topics that matter to them.

Each rating produced by QS I∙GAUGE is strictly monitored and supervised by the QS Intelligence Unit in London. Close supervision by QS Intelligence Unit (QSIU) ensures the independence, quality and integrity of QS I∙GAUGE ratings, leading to global recognition.

The rating also functions as an institutional score card, and institutions receive a detailed and confidential report on their strengths and areas of improvement, providing a roadmap for further development. As the QS I∙GAUGE rating is re-assessed every 3 years, it is acts as an invaluable tool for institutional research and planning.
