The Graduate Assistantship (GA) at The University of Tampa is a prestigious opportunity for incoming full-time graduate students who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential. Offered on a competitive basis by invitation, GAs provide financial support while allowing students to gain hands-on professional experience within the university’s academic or administrative departments. Eligible students may receive a tuition waiver for 8–12 graduate-level credits per semester, with the opportunity to receive tuition support for up to 36 credit hours if the assistantship is renewed. In addition, GAs receive a $1,500 stipend per semester, administered through the Financial Aid Office, to help offset living and educational expenses. Full-time GAs must carry a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 14 credit hours per semester while fulfilling a 20-hour per week work commitment in their assigned department. Work hours are typically scheduled during standard business hours, with occasional exceptions as defined in the position description.
