The Island Scholarship, delivered in partnership with the Scottish Government and Orkney Islands Council, will help fund the tuition fees for both UK and International Students on the following three full-time programmes at Heriot-Watt's Orkney Campus: - MSc Marine Renewable Energy - MSc Renewable and Sustainable Energy Transition - MSc International Marine Science We have 15 scholarships that will cover 100% of tuition fees to award, split as 10 for students with a UK fee status and 5 for those with an overseas fee status. We are looking for applicants that display academic excellence, an ambition to become a leader in their chosen field, show a diversity of ideas and have a compelling reason that they want to study at our Orkney campus. The aim of the Island Scholarship is to: - Strengthen Scotland’s workforce in marine science, renewable energy, and sustainable industries in Orkney and beyond. - Address financial barriers to postgraduate education and increase participation from underrepresented groups. - Research advancements in renewable energy and environmental resilience. - Support Scotland’s Net Zero and Blue Economy strategies by equipping graduates with critical skills.
