The University of Wollongong (UOW) Postgraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship is designed to support high-achieving international students who wish to pursue a Master’s by coursework degree at UOW in Australia. This competitive scholarship recognises academic merit and helps reduce the financial cost of postgraduate study at a globally ranked, research-focused university. The scholarship provides a 30% tuition fee waiver, applied directly to tuition fees for the full duration of the eligible Master’s program, as outlined in the student’s offer letter. It is available to international students enrolling full-time in a UOW Master’s (coursework) degree at an Australian campus. The scholarship is not a cash payment; instead, the discount is automatically deducted from tuition fees each academic session. A wide range of postgraduate programs are eligible under this scholarship, particularly in areas such as engineering, technology, business, data, and applied sciences. However, some professional programs are excluded, including clinical psychology, teaching, nutrition and dietetics, social work (qualifying), and medicine. To retain the scholarship, students must remain enrolled full-time and maintain a minimum cumulative Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 50 throughout their studies. The scholarship cannot be deferred, transferred to another course, or combined with other tuition-fee scholarships or sponsorships covering tuition fees. This scholarship is an excellent opportunity for academically strong students seeking a high-quality Australian postgraduate qualification, access to industry-connected learning, and strong graduate outcomes, while benefiting from a significant reduction in tuition costs at one of Australia’s leading research universities.

These scholarships present a unique advantage – they allow candidates to be considered regardless of the institution they choose for their studies, as long as they meet the appropriate study-level requirements.
