The VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP) offers highly motivated and academically excellent international students (non-EU/EEA) the opportunity to pursue a full-time English-taught Master’s degree at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam starting September 2026. This merit-based scholarship covers the full tuition fees for either a one- or two-year Master’s programme. Applicants must hold a non-EU/EEA passport and not be eligible for the lower Dutch tuition fee, demonstrate strong academic performance (typically equivalent to a Dutch GPA of 8.0), and have received conditional or unconditional admission to their chosen programme. While the VUFP scholarship does not include contributions toward living expenses (such as rent, food, or insurance), recipients are automatically considered for the NL Scholarship, which provides a living cost contribution for the first year. The selection process is competitive and based on multiple factors, including academic achievement, motivation, extracurricular activities, and the applicant’s potential to contribute academically and within the VU community. As part of the fellowship, scholarship recipients also serve as international student ambassadors throughout their studies at VU Amsterdam. Only a limited number of scholarships are awarded each year.

In a landmark partnership, the QS Scholarships platform merged with ImpACT charity organization in 2020, culminating in a synergy of resources that now manifests as QS ImpACT Scholarships.

Institution-funded scholarships are exclusively backed by the institution itself. This implies that scholarship recipients need to secure acceptance for their studies at the said institution in order to qualify. It's essential to note that each scholarship comes with its own set of eligibility criteria and prerequisites.  On the other hand, QS ImpACT Scholarships mark a collaborative effort between the ImpACT charity organization and QS. These scholarships present a unique advantage – they allow candidates to be considered regardless of the institution they choose for their studies, as long as they meet the appropriate study-level requirements. To delve deeper into the eligibility criteria associated with these scholarships, we invite you to explore the relevant scholarship details.

It means that the scholarship is advertised on other platforms and websites as well, and so are available to a wider audience. You don’t need to attend one of our events (Discover Master's, Discover MBA, Connect Masters, Connect MBA, STEM, etc.) to apply (but we’d love to see you anyway).

Yes, you can apply for as many scholarships as you wish. Just make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria and follow the application process for each.

Scholarships by institutions are managed by the school, university or collage offering the scholarship and the winner will also be announced by them. QS ImpACT Scholarships are managed by us here at QS and we’ll announce the winner.
