ACTA is one of Europe’s leading institutions in the field of dentistry, combining cutting-edge research, world-class education, and high-quality patient care. A joint initiative of the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, ACTA brings together the strengths of two renowned universities to offer an exceptional academic environment.

With approximately 950 students and 490 staff members, ACTA fosters a vibrant and diverse community of future dental professionals and researchers. Each day, over 300 patients receive care at our clinical facilities, reflecting our commitment to combining academic excellence with societal impact.

ACTA is internationally recognised for its innovative research programmes and its rigorous, hands-on approach to dental education. In addition to its undergraduate Dentistry programme, ACTA offers a wide range of postgraduate courses designed to support lifelong learning and professional development.

As an independent Faculty of Dentistry, ACTA plays a key role in advancing the missions of both partner universities. We educate dentists who are not only clinically skilled but also scientifically driven and awareness of their responsibility towards societal themes, such as diversity, low literacy and socio-economic situation of patients.
