Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (ASEM) is the mainpublic higher educational institution with economic profile in Moldova. It materializedthe aspirations of many generations in the field of economic education andresearch who strived towards an autonomous higher education institution. It enabledthe integration of higher economic education and scientific research, as wellas the vertical integration of different levels of education ranging frompre-university and university to post-university.

The main objective of the Academy of Economic Studies ofMoldova is to train professionals and also build a new mentality in the spiritof freedom of thought, action, pragmatism and life efficiency.

ASEM's mission and vision is to generate and transferknowledge by: a) supporting the development and affirmation of students andresearchers in economic and administrative sciences, as well as in othersub-disciplines of social and human sciences; b) advanced scientific researchin relation to social requirements through high quality study programs on allcycles and in all forms of university and postgraduate education; c) thegeneration of advanced knowledge; d) adult education and training.

The educational process is organized on a full andextra-mural basis at 6 specialized faculties, which are Business Management andAdministration, Economics and Law, Finance, Accounting, International EconomicRelations and Economic Cybernetics, Statistics and Informatics. The studies areoffered at the Bachelor level, a Master School of Excellence in Economics andBusiness, ASEM Doctoral School, Doctoral School in Law, Political andAdministrative Science.

Commitment to high quality education, advanced scientificresearch, life-long development and ability to adapt to the society’srequirements has made ASEM one of the most attractive higher educationinstitutions in Moldova.

A special interest is given to cooperation with other highereducation institutions and research centres from more than 20 countries worldwide,having rich traditions in economic education and research. Our institution is amember of the Francophone University Association (FUA), the Black SeaUniversities Network (BSUN), the Central European Initiative University Network(CEI - University Network). Relationships with our partners have promotedadvanced teaching methods and modern economic principles, while the academicexchanges have enabled numerous teachers and students to carry out internshipsat the most prestigious foreign universities. Special importance is given tothe implementation of the Bologna Declaration stipulations at ASEM, emphasizingthe quality of education, development of scientific research and excellence inacademic administration.
