Overview

Preparing students from around the world to live and work across cultures, The American University of Rome is a vibrant Liberal Arts University devoted to the pursuit of academic excellence. The new Graduate School builds on the tradition of excellence and high academic standards of AUR distinctive undergraduate programs in 10 disciplines: Archeology & Classics, Art History, Business Administration, Communication, Film and Digital Media, Fine Arts, Interdisciplinary Studies, International Relations and Global Studies, Italian Studies, Religious Studies. AUR’s guiding principles and philosophy for the Master’s programs are to foster the pursuit of knowledge, critical thinking and intellectual creativity. AUR Master’s degrees offer the best of the American interdisciplinary approach to learning and to student-centered education. Being organized in small classes, students will receive personalized attention and will be involved in collaborative research and study groups. From the beginning of their course of study, they will be helped in thinking about shaping their future career paths. On completion of the Master’s degree, students can either pursue a professional career or continue their studies towards a Ph.D. The American University of Rome Master's degrees are accredited by the Middle States Commission of Higher Education.
