Amity University Madhya Pradesh (AUMP) was established as a State Private University in the year 2010 by the State Legislative Act passed by the Government of Madhya Pradesh vide Madhya Pradesh Act No. 27 of 2010 dated 30 th December 2010 and published in the Government Gazette.  Accordingly, the University Grants Commission (UGC), the apex body mandated in determination and maintenance of standards in institutions of higher education in India have recognized and notified AUMP as Private University with its head quarter in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India. Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF), New Delhi, a society registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act, 1860 is the sponsoring body of the University.

AUMP is located on 102 acres of land opposite to Gwalior Airport, with an aim to impart modern, practical and research-based courses for churning out highly skilled manpower which are industry ready and easily employable.  The primary object of the university is to promote professional, industry-oriented education in the entire state of Madhya Pradesh and enhance the socio-economic upliftment of the region.

The University offers vide variety of courses in the area of management, engineering, biotechnology, law, communication, behavioral science, architecture, pharmacy, social sciences and fine arts etc.  The courses offered by the University are approved by respective regulatory bodies like Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Bar Council of India (BCI), Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), Council of Architecture (COA) and UGC. The University started offering its program from the academic session 2011.  The University has an excellent state-of-art infrastructure and is a fully air-conditioned campus to provide utmost comfort level to the students to pursue their studies.   Apart from this it has a 600-capacity auditorium and 03 seminar halls with a capacity of 200 each that act as a common ground for students, faculty and corporate personalities for regular interfaces, conferences and cultural events. For the boarding students the University has separate Hostel Facilities for Boys and Girls to create “home away from home”. 

The University has published more than 700 Scopus publication excluding the publication in Web of Science, SCI and UGC indexed journals which make it fall in the category of ‘High Research’.  Apart from this the faculty members of the University have authored a good number of high-quality books, book chapters and approximately more than 900 research publications other than Scopus.  The University as a part of its Social Responsibility towards the community had adopted 5 villages under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and have extensively worked in the area  of health, clean drinking water, sanitation and education etc. The two villages it adopted have been declared as open defecation free villages by Government of India. The University has recently started working on survey of 10 other neighboring villages in and around Gwalior which includes their socio-economic conditions, educations, health and sanitation which has been sponsored by the Government keeping in view to its earlier experience of working in community development.

  In recognition to its efforts for delivering a world class education and undertaking high impact R&D innovation, the University has been awarded with several accolades which includes featuring in the Top 200 University across India in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), India Ranking – 2024, accredited by NAAC in 2024, ranked 278 in QS Asian University Rankings -Southern Asia 2025 and awarded by QS I -GUAGE 'Institution of Happiness' for the year 2024-25. Also accreditated by the Accreditation Service for International Colleges as a ‘Premier University’. Excellent  University  in Madhya Pradesh awarded by the Madhya Pradesh Private Universities Regulatory  Commission, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The University bestowed with  3 Star Rating  in the  University Category by Institution’s Innovation Council 3.0 (IIC) Ranking  2024 organized by Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, Govt of India for the year  2023- 2024. The University has been recognized in the band ‘  Performer’  under the category "University & Deemed to be University (Private/Self Financed) (Technical)” by Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement (ARIIA) 2021, a flagship program of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
