About Andijan institute of agriculture and agrotechnologies

The Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies was established in 1964 on the basis of the Andijan branch of the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers, as the Andijan Cotton-Growing Institute. By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 28, 1992, it was reorganized into the Andijan Institute of Agriculture. According to the Presidential Decree No. PQ-3704 of May 8, 2018, “On Measures for the Fundamental Improvement of the System of Training Specialists with Higher Education at Tashkent State Agrarian University,” the institution was reorganized into the Andijan Branch of Tashkent State Agrarian University. Later, in accordance with the Presidential Decree No. PQ-4795 of June 30, 2020, “On Measures for the Further Improvement of the Agrarian Education System,” it was reestablished on the basis of the Andijan branch.

Currently, the Institute comprises 5 faculties and 19 departments. A total of 312 full-time professors and teachers are engaged in academic activities across the departments. Among them, 18 are Doctors of Science and Professors, 124 are PhD holders and Associate Professors, and 170 are highly qualified teachers without academic degrees. The overall scientific potential amounts to 45.5%. These highly qualified academic staff members provide education in 36 bachelor’s degree programs and 23 master’s degree programs, with a total enrollment of 8,011 students. In the 2024/2025 academic year, the number of graduates will amount to 1,487.
