Although AHBVU was formally reorganized as an independent entity in 2018, its academic foundations date back to 1934, reflecting a profound historical legacy. Under the strategic restructuring of the Turkish Higher Education system in 2018, Gazi University-one of the nation's premier institutions-was divided into two specialized branches: (a) Social Sciences and (b) Natural, Engineering, and Health Sciences. As the successor to the social sciences heritage of Gazi University, our institution continues its academic mission under the title of Ankara Haci Bayram Veli University.
