A'Sharqiyah University

A’Sharqiyah University (ASU) is a private higher education institution, with a juristic nature, and has academic, administrative, and financial independence. It operates in accordance with the State policy of higher education and is accredited by Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA). It is a distinguished Higher Education Institution (HEI) for the academic programs it offers and various services it provides. University is evolving at a time of unprecedented change and developments in scientific discovery and new educational technology. The University was established in May 2009 and located in the Wilayat of Ibra in the North Sharqiyah Governorate of the Sultanate of Oman.

ASU started operations in the Fall of 2010, initially with students in three colleges. It now has more than 12000 students in five colleges and a center of language and foundation studies. It currently offers 41 undergraduate academic programs (bachelor, advanced diploma, and diploma) and 15 postgraduate academic programs (postgraduate diploma, master and PhD). ASU is currently ranked 89th in the Times Higher Education (THE) Arab University Rankings 2026 and placed within the 161–170 band in the QS Arab Region Rankings 2026. Additionally, the university is ranked in the 1001–1500 range worldwide in the THE University Impact Rankings 2025.

The university and its academic programs are officially recognized by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates.
