About Azerbaijan Sports Academy
Azerbaijan Sports Academy (ASA) founded in 1930 is the first higher educational institution in the Southern Caucasus in the field of sport, as well as, is the only fully sports-profiled university in Azerbaijan. ASA offers higher education in three main languages: Azerbaijani, English, and Russian. The Academy offers 7 majors at the bachelor's level, 6 majors at the master's level and 3 majors at the doctorate level. Approximately 7000 students are currently enrolled at the ASA.

Doctorate programs
The Azerbaijan Sports Academy offers doctorate programs in the following areas:
- Theory and methodology of physical education, sports training
- Rehabilitation medicine, sports medicine, therapeutic physical education, spa therapy and physiotherapy
- Field economic
Currently, more than 18 foreign professors and teachers from various universities are involved in the teaching process at the Academy. At the same time, the scientific leaders of 47 master's and 9 doctoral theses are international experts from different universities.
Scientific-educational laboratory. Starting from the 2017/2018 academic year, the introduction of new majors at the bachelor's and master's levels, as well as the improvement of educational programs for existing majors, created the need to create a scientific-educational laboratory.
The rehabilitation process in the scientific-educational laboratory is carried out by highly qualified doctors, graduates of the Academy's master's program in the "Sports medicine and rehabilitation" (in English) major, founded in 2017.
The rehabilitation process was designed individually for each patient using the clinical protocols of the University College London and the concept of Complex-Core rehabilitative physical movements under the guidance of Mike Loosemore, Professor of Sport and Exercise Medicine at UCL University of UK, Lead Expert in Sport and Exercise Medicine at the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health (ISEH).
The scientific-educational laboratory establishes close cooperation with various federations (Judo, badminton, boxing, cycling, volleyball, and etc.). Within the framework of cooperation, the members of the national team undergo functional tests to check their physical preparation, design and check the proper exercises in the necessary directions for success in future competitions.
