Bahcesehir University (BAU) lives up to its motto “A World University in the Heart of Istanbul”.  With its main campus along the shores of the Bosphorus in Besiktas, the hustle and bustle of each day begins early and goes late; within the walls of the university, activity never ceases.   

The first thing that will catch your eye when you enter our university is the number of international students.  From the United States to China, from France to South Korea, over a thousand international students from far and wide study at BAU. When asked why they prefer BAU, the answer is always the same: "The central location and international status.” BAU’s location speaks for itself and a short tour of our campus or brief perusal of our website will shed a light on our international connections.  

BAU GLOBAL provides students with opportunities to study abroad at any of its affiliate institutions in Berlin, Toronto, Washington DC, Batumi, Cyprus, Hanoi, Kyiv, Puebla, and Brockville.  Our International Office extends support to our students who choose to further their education at any BAU Global campus.  Whether you choose the excitement and slendour of Istanbul, or to immerse yourself in American history and culture in DC, or experience the wonders of Southeast Asia in exotic Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi, at the end of the academic year, you also have the opportunity to apply for BAU’s summer abroad programs open to all students from all over the world.  

Commuting to BAU is quite easy. We provide free and exclusive shuttle service to our students and faculty members with our own boats between Beşiktaş campuses, North and South, and Galata. Our boats depart from our own pier (BAUPORT) in Beşiktaş at set times to Galata. This allows for a pleasant journey between the campuses, away from Istanbul’s traffic, on the exquisite Bosphorus with the fresh sea air and the occasional dolphin sighting.  The Galata campus is home to the Communications Faculty and their work in new media; from digital media and games to the newsdesk where the fundamentals of journalism are learned, various workshops are available at this campus.   

In addition to current students, BAU organizes programs for alumni and graduate school candidates. Our Alumni Office organizes training sessions and holds events throughout the year and our BAU family grows each year, maintaining strong bonds even after graduation.
