  VISION of Bahria University is "To become an internationally recognized university that contributes towards the development of nation through excellence in education and research". MISSION  is "To remain committed to the attainment of highest standards in teaching, learning and research at par with international standards".  Bahria University (BU) is a Federally Chartered Public Sector University which was established Islamabad on 7th February 2000 through a Presidential Ordinance. It is a multi-campus institution of higher education, which is committed to attainment of the highest standards in teaching, learning and research compatible with global requirements of practicing different professions. The University is widely recognized for preparing professionals, some to assume roles of future leaders and some to become good executives/ managers through development of their physical, mental, moral and professional competence. Bahria University's main campus is situated at the capital city of Pakistan; including Islamabad campus other constituent units are Bahria University Karachi Campus, Bahria University Lahore Campus and Institute of Professional Psychology, National Center of Maritime Policy Research, Karachi and Bahria University Medical & Dental College, Karachi (BUM&DC). Affiliated College of the university is  Frontier Medical College (FMDC). Some of the faculty members have also won awards for their research publications from national & international organizations; the total number of research articles published by faculty members in international and local journals is close to 1000 and citations more than 50. Bahria has produced more than 12000 graduates since 2000 and so far 35 convocations have been organized in all the Constituent and Affiliated Units.Independent entities have evaluated Bahria and the quality of programs it offers, such as the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and the Institute of Scientific Information (ISI), Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). Bahria University undergraduates programs are accredited with PEC,NBEAC, NCEAC, PBC, PMDC and PNC. .Academic Council of the university meets regularly to address the academic issues and Board of Studies conduct regular meetings to address and resolve the departmental and faculty level issues. Th Bahria University also has a Quality Assurance Directorate which assesses and reviews the quality of programs based on National and International quality parameters pertaining to teaching and research as per the guidance of Higher Education Commission. A leadership development center is also working for the students to train them for their future endeavors and to face the challenges of this changing world. Students counseling is another area which is of great important not only for subject counseling but also works for the students career placement.  Bahria University is committed to providing quality education, It has state of the art computer labs, laboratories, research labs and a library with more than 24000 books, 1500 CDs in which digital books, software and other study aid material are available. As a result it has already signed 16 Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with reputed institutions throughout the globe which are University of Leicester, UK, University of Nottingham, UK, University of Bedfordshire, UK, Greenwich University, etc.
