Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS)

Established in 2002, Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering & Management Sciences (BUITEMS) is a non-profit public sector higher education institution located in Quetta, the capital city of Balochistan, Pakistan. Officially recognized and declared as an Engineering University by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. Since its inception, the student body of the university grew from 90 to over 10000 in 2018.

BUITEMS is ISO 9001:2015 certified university and the member of International Association of Universities (IAU), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), United Nation Academic Impact (UNAI), American Society for Quality (ASQ), World Confederation of Businesses (WORLDCOB), Talloires Network and Association of Quality Assurance Agencies of the Islamic World (IQA). The Medium of instruction at Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences is English. The University is recognized by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and has been declared as an Engineering University. All its programs are accredited by respective councils. The University offers 62 undergraduate and graduate programs in 32 disciplines including 12 engineering programs. These programs are offered in five faculties by 31 departments. Faculties are: Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Life Sciences and Informatics, Faculty of Management Sciences and Faculty of Arts and Basic Sciences.

The University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees and doctorate degrees in several areas of study. All bachelor degree programs are accredited by respective professional accreditation councils. BUITEMS has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 20-30% making this Pakistani higher education organization a very selective institution.

The curricula at the university are constantly reviewed and upgraded in the light of new findings and research outcomes. The Career Counseling Center at the university provides timely and appropriate guidance to the students. They are encouraged to analyze their own aptitudes and ambitions to chalk out a future plan of approach for them. Human resource development features high on the university’s priorities. The teacher’s qualifications and capabilities are continuously improved and modernized through various activities, both inland and abroad.
