ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Established in the the year 1964 by an eminent politician and educationist Dr. Patangraoji Kadam, Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune, India has completed 60 years of imparting quality education in rural and urban areas .  Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) has 29 constituent units and is one of the largest multi-disciplinary multi-campus universities with campuses at New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Sangli, Pune, Solapur, Kolhapur and Karad. 

In the last decade  BVDU has emerged as a global university with a wide offering   programs and courses spanning varied educational faculties and state-of-the-art infrastructure, sprawling campuses, extensive teaching and learning facilities, library and research facilities. Over the years BVDU has contributed thousands of well trained graduates, post graduates and research doctorates to the pool of professionals in India and abroad.

In line with its Motto of “Social Transformation Through Dynamic Education”  the university nurtures a holistic education approach that not only academically enriches the students, but also contributes to the students’ personality by nurturing innovation, creativity and practical work experience.  

The University with 12 Faculties  offers various UG and PG courses  in various disciplines such as, Medicine, Dentistry, Ayurved, Homoeopathy, Nursing, Pharmacy, Environment, Homeopathy, Nursing, Dental, Science, Engineering, Architecture, Law, Management, Social Sciences, Arts, Commerce and Science, Physical Education, Hotel Management and Catering Technology. Three research institutes of the University are exclusively devoted to conduct sophisticated researches in health related sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, and social sciences

 24000 plus students are enrolled for various graduate, post graduate and doctoral programmes including  international students from 48 countries.

Sports and extension activities Students of the University get opportunity to participate in several sports competitions, tournaments and events like Power Lifting, Handball, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Athletic Championships, Wrestling, Football, Table Tennis, Basketball etc.  As well as in cultural events, youth festivals etc. 

The NSS unit of the university, involves students in several extension activities like Medical Health Check-up and Treatment Camps, benefitting about 57,000 people under various NSS activities by NSS Unit of the University.
