Brusov State University

Brusov State University (BSU) conjoins educational traditions with innovative ideas. Established in 1935 and being the Republic of Armenia’s leading higher education institution (HEI) for studying modern languages and social sciences, BSU constantly evolves to meet the learners’ needs and respond to the global challenges affecting higher education.

The application of innovative approaches and ideas is at the core of BSU’s both academic and extracurricular activities. The University is known for its significant achievements in the fields of foreign language teaching, translation, applied linguistics, public relations, journalism, tourism, international relations, European studies, political science, as well as management and intercultural communication.

It is noteworthy that 72% of BSU’s graduates take up full-time positions in Armenian and international labor markets. Moreover, according to a recent survey, 57% of BSU students got employed not having graduated from the university. The university offers various bachelor's, master's and postgraduate programs in the fields of humanities, social sciences, pedagogy, service, journalism and tourism. 

BSU has educational programs in 8 foreign languages as majors (English, Russian, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Chinese and Korean) and about 20 foreign languages as minors.

With the main focus being on multilingual and multicultural education, internationalization is a strategic priority for BSU. The University promotes its international visibility by extending the network of its partners year by year. 

Thus, BSU has more than 125 international agreements with 85 leading universities and research centres, international and academic organizations. Having more than 25 Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreements with the EU member countries’ universities, BSU creates regular mobility opportunities for its students and staff. BSU is also actively involved in international capacity-building projects.

BSU is a well-equipped institution, providing its students the opportunity to not only integrate high technologies into the lectures but also allow taking different international language level testing exams at the university. Studies at the university become even more engaging due to BSU’s diverse language centers, where invited international professors from different parts of the world share their experience and knowledge with the students.

The aim of BSU is to prepare well-developed individuals with deep professional knowledge, up-to-date skills, who have the ability to act independently, make decisions, and be responsible for those decisions. Innovative approaches and ideas are the basis of BSU's progress.
