CEIBS was established on November 8, 1994 in Shanghai. Based on its own campus in the Pudong district, the school is a non-profit joint venture established under an agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation (MOFTEC, now called The Ministry of Commerce) and the European Commission. Today, CEIBS also has offices and operates programmes in Beijing, Shenzhen and Africa. CEIBS was established on November 8, 1994 in Shanghai. Headquartered at its largest campus in the city's financial capital, Pudong, the school is a non-profit joint venture established under an agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation (MOFTEC, now called The Ministry of Commerce) and the European Commission. Today, CEIBS also has campuses in China's political capital, Beijing, and Zurich in the heart of Europe. CEIBS also operates programmes from its facilities in Shenzhen to China's south and Accra in Africa. CEIBS is mainland China's leading business school, with three programmes globally ranked by the Financial Times.
