Student life

City is located at the heart of one of the most vibrant cities in the world. The English capital is a truly global city, boasting a wealth of jobs across a range of industries and some of the world’s top cultural attractions.

From shops, cafés and restaurants to museums, galleries and arts venues; from leading Premier League football teams to nightclubs; and from cityscapes to green spaces, London is a city for everyone.

City’s main Northampton Square campus sits between three of London’s most popular districts. Islington offers exciting social and shopping options, Shoreditch buzzes with entrepreneurial creativity and lively nightlife, while Clerkenwell is a hub for trend-setting design and cosy bars.

City is among the first universities to ensure that the foundations for students’ future careers are laid before they graduate.

All City undergraduates complete a Career Activation Project (CAP) as part of their degree. This could take the form of a MicroPlacement, an industry-led consultancy project, a summer internship, volunteering or mentoring and coaching. Each project has been designed to provide essential relevant professional experience.

Undergraduate students also take a Career Activation Module (CAM) to help prepare for the application process when seeking graduate employment. Each CAM has been designed to be unique to each subject and career options and form a core part of the study programme.
