To apply for this course, you should have:

  • A second-class honours degree or the equivalent from an international institution.
  • A lower qualification such as Diploma in Midwifery may be considered with appropriate prior experience. You would normally be expected to have been practicing as a qualified midwife for at least one year
  • At least one year's experience as a practising and qualified midwife.
If you do not hold a degree, your application may still be considered on the basis of your professional experience.

English requirements

If your first language is not English, one of the following is also required:

  • A first degree from a UK university or an overseas institution recognised by City as providing adequate evidence of proficiency in the English language. For example, from institutions in Australia, Canada or the USA.
  • IELTS: 7.0.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 72.
  • TOEFL 100 overall
