This programme is delivered by Bayes Business School (formerly Cass). Part of City, University of London, Bayes is ranked amongst the top 6 business schools in the UK and the top 25 business schools in Europe*  and 3rd best in London for Business and Management Studies**.
The Foundation Year is a one-year full-time programme and is intended to provide a bridging role between pre-university study and the academic rigour of an undergraduate degree. As well as delivering important academic content to prepare you for the key subjects that will form the core of the rest of your Business Management degree, you’ll gain vital transferable skills.
On successful completion of the Foundation Year you will have obtained a fundamental knowledge of mathematics, statistics, economics, IT and business management which will ensure that you are fully prepared to enter Programme Stage 1 of the main degree. The BSc Business Management degree will provide you with the skills required to forge a career in the corporate world or to enter the management consulting industry. It will also deliver the tools required by those who aspire to be entrepreneurs or business owners.
The core modules delivered during the Foundation Year are designed to prepare you for academic study and assessment during your core degree. For example, you will learn how to construct a logical argument, how to write and deliver a presentation, how to carry out research, whether in a library or using online resources, and how to use appropriate referencing techniques.
Once you have successfully completed the foundation year in Business Management, you can embark on the main Business Management degree or any one of its specialist pathways.
The BSc (Hons) Business Management degree is designed for students who want to gain a broad understanding of the way organisations work and who want to gain practical experience in the area that interests them most. You will have the option to choose from a wide range of elective modules, which allows you to personalise your studies to suit your own interests. These include strategy, marketing, finance, operations management, accounting, people and organisations, ethics and corporate social responsibility, economics, business statistics and human resource management. You will also choose from a range of professional experience modules so that when you graduate you are equipped with the knowledge and experience to make you an attractive candidate to employers. You will also take a career-focused module suitable for your chosen course to help you prepare for entering the job market. This will develop analytical and problem-solving skills which can be applied across these different functions and you will understand why businesses are complex and how to navigate the issues created by this complexity. The BSc (Hons) Business Management is available as a three-year degree, or four-year degree for those who wish to take up a one-year work placement sandwich option or to take a sandwich year studying abroad. The four-year degree offers excellent opportunities to gain relevant work experience to prepare you for your career, and to make contacts in the world of business. You also have the option to apply for a study abroad sandwich year at one of our highly-respected partner institutions across the world. In an increasingly globalised business environment this is excellent preparation.  There are six BSc Business Management degree pathways taught at Bayes: BSc Business Management, BSc Business with Finance, BSc Business with Marketing, BSc Business Management with Social Purpose, BSc Business Management, Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship and BSc International Business. At any time during the first-one-and-a-half years of the degree, students can switch to a different pathway, subject to the availability of places. Some restrictions may apply if the student is spending part of the second year on a study abroad scheme.
