Cranfield University welcomes applications from students from all over the world.

There is strong competition for places on our courses and so we recommend you apply as early as possible to secure your place. This is important if you also want to apply for on-campus accommodation or need a visa to study in the UK. These processes will take additional time after your course offer has been made.

If you are an international student applying for a course starting in September, we strongly advise you to submit your application by 30 June at the very latest.

The School of AerospaceTransport and ManufacturingCranfield School of Management and the School of WaterEnergy and Environment are located on the Cranfield campus. 

 

The Aerospace Integration Research Centre (AIRC), a £35 million innovative centre built in partnership with Airbus and Rolls-Royce, fosters collaboration between industry and academia, and a new £65 million Digital Aviation Research and Technology Centre (DARTeC) is spearheading the UK’s research into digital aviation technology.

 

Unique facilities and large-scale test environments, including those at Cranfield Defence and Security which is part of the Ministry of Defence site at Shrivenham, are used by our students and clients for exceptional research.

 

We are unique in the world because we have our own runway, our own airport, our own aircraft and pilots, our own fuel farm and our own air navigation service provider.


Our Crash Impact Centre is one of just two FIA (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) approved test centres in the world, crash-testing Formula One cars.


Investment of £7 million in the latest forensic science technology is creating a new forensic science teaching and research facility at our Cranfield campus which will be unparalleled in the UK.


Our Digital Investigation Unit, previously known as the Digital Forensics Unit and originally the Centre for Forensic Computing, is one of the longest established digital investigation units in the world.


The School of Water, Energy and Environment has the Plant Phenotyping and Soil Health Facility – the world's first glasshouse to study plant-soil-water systems at pilot scale under a multi-sensor gantry. We also host the new £3.2 million Agri-informatics facility that will create innovative informatics to support novel business, management and policy approaches in the agricutural sector. It is shared with the Agri-EPI Centre, one of the UK's four Agri-Tech Centres, which will focus on agri-tech research and innovation to accelerate the development and adoption of precision data agriculture and engineering technologies that boost sustainability productivity across the whole agri-food chain. cranfield.ac.uk. The school also houses the HyPER project (Bulk Hydrogen Production by Sorbent Enhanced Stream Reforming). An international collaboration led by Cranfield University wth £7.4 million funding from the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy's (BEIS) £505m Energy Innovation Programme. It is set to examine the potentia for low-carbon hydrogen to be the clean fuel of the future, Construction of new low-carbon hydrogen pilot plant gets underway (cranfield.ac.uk. The School also hosts the national water science facility funded by government through UKCRIC (the UK Collaboratorium for Research on Infrastructure and Cities)  and the University.

Student life at Cranfield University


Cranfield campus is set in extensive grounds with amenities including bars, shops, a post office, sports hall and bank. Excellent leisure and shopping facilities can be found in Milton Keynes and the historic town of Bedford, just a short drive away. The campus is just 40 minutes from central London by train.

The Career Development Service is an important part of the Student Experience support function. Our team has significant real-world experience in the areas of coaching, recruitment, human resources and business development. We help students develop their personal career journey, so they can find meaningful employment that uses their Cranfield qualification. The ‘Career Continuation Service’ offers unrivalled lifelong support to alumni, meaning we are fully committed to assisting your career journey at Cranfield and beyond. The team is comprised of three distinct departments – coaching, employability and employer engagement – which combined provide the following resources:
