Dicle Üniversitesi

Dicle University is a major public university located in Diyarbakır, Türkiye. Its origins date back to 1966 with the establishment of the Diyarbakır Faculty of Medicine under Ankara University. In 1973, the Faculty of Science was opened, and the institution was officially founded as Diyarbakır University. Following higher education reforms, the university adopted its current name, Dicle University, in 1982.

The university is dedicated to the production, dissemination, and application of knowledge for the benefit of humanity at local, regional, and global levels. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across health sciences, engineering, social sciences, natural sciences, agriculture, law, education, and the arts. Today, Dicle University comprises numerous faculties, vocational schools, graduate institutes, a state conservatory, and many research and application centers, as well as major teaching hospitals that provide advanced healthcare services to the region.

The university continues to modernize its educational and research infrastructure, strengthen international cooperation, and contribute to sustainable regional development through scientific research, innovation, and community engagement.
