About Duksung Women's University
Duksung Women's University (DSWU) is one of the leading universities in Seoul, South Korea. It traces its history from the “Chosun Committee for Women’s Education” in 1920, founded by Patriot Ms. Chamirisa (1879~1955).
The founding spirit “Live, but live your own life. Think, but think for yourself. Learn, but learn your own lesson” has led the Duksung history for 102 years, fostering leaders of the society who challenge to seek new values for the future.
To carry out the spirit of self–reliance, self-independence, and self-awareness, DSWU aims to cultivate creativity, righteousness, and convergent thinking capabilities by operating a variety of programs.
DSWU has set creativity, partnership, progressiveness, professionalism, empathy, and citizenship as its core competency indicators to face the ever-changing world. DSWU’s interdisciplinary major system that has influenced other universities nationwide is one of its fruitful efforts to innovate the traditional academic system.
