The Institut Textile et Chimique de Lyon (Lyon Textile and Chemical Institute) is the only engineering school directly descended from the textile, leather and chemistry schools founded by professionals in Lyon more than a century ago.ITECH-Lyon trains engineers in plastics, textiles, composites and chemistry by examining paints, inks, adhesives, cosmetics, leather and its uses (footwear, leather goods). With associative status, ITECH-Lyon is a Grande Ecole created and backed by professional unions and companies.In addition to its main engineering course, ITECH-Lyon offers courses from undergraduate to postgraduate level: BTS (Brevet de technicien supérieur - higher vocational training certificate), professional degree (jointly awarded by the Université Claude Bernard), Post Premier Cycle (postgraduate) and Specialist Masters (Conférence des Grandes Ecoles seal of approval.ITECH Lyon is strengthening its worldwide presence and international exchanges (from the USA to China, as well as Europe). Though Education is ITECH-Lyon’s primary vocation, industrial relations feature amongst its strengths. These lead to the creation of strong partnerships in the fields of research and development both regionally, nationally and throughout Europe but also in continuing professional, graduate and non-graduate education.
