Universidad EIA

EIA University is located in Envigado, Colombia. It was founded in 1978 as “Escuela de ingeniería de Antioquia” (Antioquia’s school of engineering), committed with the education of Engineers with high academic standards and based on a strong ethic and humanistic preparation. The first program that the University offered was Civil engineering and started operations with 38 students. From there on, EIA has steadily expanded with new programs, including other academic fields beyond engineering.

By 2016, Colombia’s Ministry of education recognized the institution as a university and the name was changed to EIA University. It has 3 schools that work intertwined, with a convergence principle, where different disciplines support the education of integral professionals, and offer the following programs:

EIA University has been granted the High-quality institutional accreditation, given by the National Accreditation Board of the Ministry of Education, since 2010.

The university, along with its students and alumni, aims to contribute to the technological, economic, cultural, and social progress of the nation. This endeavor is pursued in alignment with the natural environment and guided by the principles of ethics and justice.

EIA University is characterized by its practical and industry-oriented approach. Students can participate in real-life projects and collaborate with companies and institutions in the development of technological and engineering solutions for their challenges. The university also encourages entrepreneurship and innovation, providing support to students and graduates who wish to start their own companies or projects.

Since 2020, in a strategic partnership with Hospital Pablo Tobón Uribe (HPTU), the number one hospital in Antioquia, EIA University is offering a Medicine program, with a focus on humanism and an evidence-based medicine (EBM) training, to incorporate the best technologies on the treatment of patients.

Beyond academic education, the EIA fosters research, and the dissemination of knowledge. The university hosts specialized research groups focusing on diverse areas, engaging in collaborative studies and projects with other academic institutions.

EIA University comprises three campuses, with one situated in Medellín at Hospital Pablo Tobón Uribe and two in Envigado. The primary campus is nestled in a rural setting, offering clean air and a picturesque environment surrounded by lush greenery—providing an ideal location for academic pursuits.
