Favaloro University

Universidad Favaloro (Favaloro University) is a Buenos Aires institution, founded by the pioneering Argentine surgeon René Favaloro. Tragically, Favaloro committed suicide before work on the university was finally complete but his vision of a university specializing in medical education and with close ties to a working hospital has been realized.

Degrees available at the university are largely medical (e.g. medicine, psychology) although there is also a Faculty of Engineering and Exact and Natural Sciences, which offers biology programs. The university also has a specialized group for technical developments called i2b, which has been responsible for projects ranging from digital signal processing to bioinformatics.
