Fergana Polytechnic Institute (FPI) is one of the leading regional universities of Fergana region, specializes in technical studies which at the same time operates as a main generator of specialists for industrial factories and administrative organizations in Fergana valley. FPI was established by the Cabinet of Ministers of Soviet Union in 1967. Currently the institute has 8 faculties (Mechanical Engineering, Electric Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer-aided Design Systems, Architecture and Building Materials, Light Industry and Textile, Management of Manufacturing), 31 educational departments, Youth Innovation Center and Academic Lyceum. FPI trains students in 38 specialties of Bachelor’s programs, 18 specialties of Master’s programs and up to 20 PhD programs. The number of students is about 15 000. Today at FPI, there are more than 1200 employers from which 670 (20 DSc, 170 are PhD professors) of them lecturers. The university’s infrastructure consists of 3 campuses, 10 modern educational buildings, 12 lecture-room facilities, sports and fitness complexes, 5 student dormitories. A modernized education process integrated in the university includes advanced technologies both in educational and technological spheres: newest computers, linguistic rooms, multimedia rooms with interactive boards, recently opened centre of innovative technologies, large library stock. One of the top-priority objectives of FPI is to provide competitiveness and demand of its graduates, international recognition of diplomas, economic and social status growth of the teaching staff. Over 30.000 highly qualified specialists have been graduated the institute, which build their career over 30 countries of the world. FPI maintains permanent scientific and production ties with more than 90 manufacturing enterprises, 20 scientific research Institutes, 100 higher educational Institutions. The University cooperates closely with more than 60 leading scientific centres in Poland, Turkey, Germany, the USA, Great Britain, Slovakia, Russia and Central Asia region countries. Lecturers and students participate in international educational programs such as: Ugrad, DAAD, LOGO, KOICA, JICA, Erasmus+, Erasmus Mundus, « El yurt umidi ». The university actively pursue a program of academic mobility for teachers and students. Nowadays institute is being prepared in passing IAAC accreditation.
Scientists of our institute have been working with more than 20 foreign countries’ (such as Germany, China, Italy, Southern Korea, Netherlands, Poland, USA, Israel, Sweden, Denmark, Greece, Hungary, Portugal, Romania, Austria, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan) higher educational institutions based on mutual scientific-applied cooperative contracts. Several students of us studied at the foreign higher educational institutions of the countries such as Italy, England, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece and Romania. More than 70 of our teaching staff members have improved their qualifications in foreign universities.
Nowadays at the institute we offer educational programs in 3 languages: Uzbek, English and Russian.
