About Fergana State Technical University

Fergana State Technical University (previously known as Fergana Polytechnic Institute) is an educational institution specializing in engineering education and is one of the top five higher education institutions in Uzbekistan. The Institute was established in 1967 on the basis of the Fergana General Technical Faculty of the former Tashkent Polytechnic Institute. During the years of independence, the university was the only higher technical educational institution in the Fergana Valley. The Faculty of Engineering and Economics is the main educational area of the university, training qualified engineering personnel for the development of Uzbekistan's economy. The institution conducts scientific research in the fields of mechanical engineering, construction, engineering, economics, chemical technology, energy, light industry, and computer science.

In the first years of the University's existence, there were about 70 teachers, 3 of whom had the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences. Nowadays there are more than 682 of them 33 doctors of sciences and 229 candidates of sciences.
