2022: Unified HKUST, Complementary Campuses

Founded on a unique pioneering academic structure, HKUST is well poised to implement its vision for disciplinary and cross-disciplinary pursuits, under the “Unified HKUST, Complementary Campuses” framework with campuses in Clear Water Bay and Guangzhou (GZ)*.

The ever more complex problems facing society call for both curiosity-driven and mission-motivated research. Under this framework, a comprehensive range of degree programs has been developed at HKUST and HKUST(GZ) following two distinct approaches.

Our overall infrastructure has been substantially expanded and updated. Central research facilities at both campuses are open to all students and researchers, many co-supervision and cross-campus study opportunities are also available to students.

* Officially opened in September 2022 and located in Nansha, Guangzhou, HKUST(GZ) is well positioned to expand HKUST’s vision for education, innovation and knowledge transfer to the Greater Bay Area and beyond. While the two universities are separate legal and financial entities, they share the same vision, mission and values.
