Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) was officially established on April 26, 1995, under Decision No. 235/TTg by the Prime Minister. since then, HUTECH has demonstrated unwavering progress and has emerged as on of the leading universities in Vietnam.

Guided by the principles of "Knowledge - Ethics - Creativity", HUTECH is renowned for its discipline diversity and educational offerings with 63 undergraduate programmes across various disciplines. HUTECH is dedicated to meeting the academic needs of students and society.

Today, HUTECH offers four state-of-art Campuses located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, spanning over 100,000 square meters and designed to meet international standards. At HUTECH, students are provided with modern, dynamic, and comfortable learning environment that fosters academics excellence and personal growth.

Additionally, HUTECH collaborates with renowned international universities, such as Lincoln University (US), Open University Malaysia (Malaysia), CY Cergy Paris University (France), Tongmyong University (Korea), Kanazawa Institute of Technology (Japan), and other partner institutions, to offer International Bachelor's and Master programmes. This is a strategic initiative to enhance education standards.

HUTECH is among the first higher education institutions in Vietnam to adopt ISO 9001:2015 standards and AUN-QA programme assessment. With the best efforts, over 30 years, HUTECH has achieved many achievements in education, research and community outreach, especially the First, Second, and Third-Class Medals awarded by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Certificate of Merit awarded by the Minister of the Ministry of Education and Training, Certificate of Merit awarded by the Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. In November 2022, HUTECH was honored to achieve QS 4 Stars (overall) with five categories in 5 Stars: Teaching, Employability, Facility, Academic Development and Inclusiveness, certified by the world's leading prestigious rating and ranking organization QS - Quacquarelli Symonds (UK). In December 2024, HUTECH achieve 4 Stars (overall) for for the second audit with new methodology of QS Rating in which more criteria related to Sustainability have been included. HUTECH has been awarded 5 Stars for 5 categories: Teaching, Facility, Employability, Good Governance, Equity - Diversity and Inclusion, and 3 categories with 4 Stars: Academic Development, Programme Strength and Environment Impact and 1 category with 3 Stars: Global Engagement.

With a breakthrough in governance, leadership and management in education, research and community services, HUTECH has gradually enhanced and affirmed its position in Vietnamese higher education and integrated with the regional and international higher education system.
