MIM Admissions

The INSEAD Master in Management is designed for young graduates from a wide range of academic and cultural backgrounds, with a clear interest in management. All admitted candidates should demonstrate evidence of consistent academic aptitude, coupled with the potential for professional management in an international context.

The MIM Admissions Team is looking for people with intellectual curiosity, personal qualities to contribute to the many activities at INSEAD and a desire to stretch themselves in a rigorous academic programme. We welcome applications from around the world regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, colour or financial status. Our aim is to build an exciting, dynamic and diverse student body.

Key admission criteria are:

1.        - Ability to Contribute: INSEAD seeks students who bring something distinctive and meaningful to the MIM experience during and after the programme.

2.        - Academics: The INSEAD MIM requires participants to have a sound academic foundation and GMAT/GRE score.

3.        - International motivation: Adaptability and flexibility in multicultural environments.

MIMs have 0 to 2 years maximum of work experience . You do not need to have full-time professional experience prior to applying to the programme. However, some experience in a business context will be valued such as an internship or work in a charity/community environment.

Applicants need to submit their application online. Only complete applications will be considered by the Admissions Committee. You will need to submit the following:

  • Online application form containing your personal data, a CV, academic background, two recommendation letters (from a business or academic environment/perspective), scanned copies of your academic transcripts with officially certified translation (if applicable), a motivation essay, and your test results for GMAT or GRE, and English (if applicable).
  • Once you have submitted the application form, you will be redirected to the “Kira Talent” platform for a video interview, where you will answer additional questions.
  • You will also need to pay the application fee:  EUR 180.

All elements of your application will be thoroughly reviewed by the admissions team. If successful through the first pre-selection, candidates will be invited to attend an interview with an INSEAD alumni or admissions representative in a city near you, or online . Once the interview is completed and the interview report has been returned, the application will be reviewed further and finally submitted to the Admissions Committee.

There are 5 Admission rounds for one intake in August of each year. Check our Admission calendar here: https://www.insead.edu/master-programmes/mim/admissions

MBA Admissions

The MBA programme is your stepping stone to a fulfilling future as a leader in a competitive, global business world. We believe that our multi-cultural environment, comprising of students representing over 90 nationalities and an international faculty of world-class business experts, is ideal for your professional and personal development.  INSEAD MBA candidates have on average 5 to 6 years of professional experience.

Three key Admission criteria are:

4.        - Leadership Potential: Work experience and quality of your achievements

While we operate a staged admissions process, with four deadlines for each of the two intakes per year, within each round, applications will be reviewed on a rolling admissions process. This means that the Interview and Final Decision deadlines you see below are the latest dates by which you would receive your decision, but it could be earlier. Rest assured that releasing decisions earlier than the published deadlines does not affect our thorough application evaluation. Please note that while competition for each of the rounds is equal, the earlier you gain admission, the more time you have to secure financing and arrange logistics. The new online application form opens approximately two months before each Round 1 application deadline. Shortly after completing your INSEAD MBA online application, you will receive an e-mail notification from Kira Talent with a unique link to complete 4 video interviews. Your link will be also available on your dashboard within the application system.

The video should be seen as a unique opportunity for you to share your passions, your motivations and who you truly are. The MBA Admissions Committee is interested in obtaining an authentic view of you as a person, to see how you think on your feet and how you convey your ideas.

The video interviews do not replace the face-to-face interviews with Alumni.   Your application will be considered as complete and ready to be reviewed only once we have received your answers to the video interviews. Please complete your video interviews at your earliest convenience and by the deadline to which you are applying. We strongly recommend however that you complete this step before the final date to allow yourself some time to prepare for this exercise.
