Institut Pendidikan Indonesia (IPI) Garut is a growing higher education institution located in the scenic highlands of West Java, Indonesia. Founded in 1983 as the Garut School of Teacher Training and Pedagogy (STKIP Garut), the institution began with a strong mandate to prepare qualified educators for the region and the nation. Over the years, it has expanded its academic reach and strengthened its institutional capacity. A significant turning point occurred in 2017, when it transitioned into an institute, signaling a new chapter of development—one that continues to honor its roots in teacher education while gradually opening pathways toward a more multidisciplinary academic environment.

Today, IPI Garut remains firmly grounded in its reputation as a reliable center for teacher preparation. IPI Garut currently offers ten undergraduate programs, one professional program, and three postgraduate programs. The undergraduate offerings are housed in two faculties. The Faculty of Social Science, Language, and Literature Education provides undergraduate programs in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Pancasila and Civic Education, English Language Education, Elementary School Teacher Education, and Social Science Education. These programs blend pedagogical theory, cultural insight, and practical teaching experiences, ensuring that graduates are well prepared to become transformative educators. Meanwhile, the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Technology hosts undergraduate programs in Mathematics Education, Biology Education, Information Technology Education, Physics Education, and Information Systems. In addition to its undergraduate programs, IPI Garut administers a respected Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG), which provides structured and rigorous training for teacher certification. This program strengthens graduates’ pedagogical, personal,

At the postgraduate level, the School of Postgraduate Studies offers master’s degrees in Educational Technology, Indonesian Language and Literature Education, and Mathematics Education.
