Overview

 

Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora was established in 1955 for the local community that was in need of new educational opportunities. It’s now an autonomous public university with a vision to be recognized worldwide for its leadership on both a national and international level. 

Home to 16,000 students, its two main campuses are located in Ciudad, Obregón, Sonora, with three satellite campuses based in Guaymas, Empalme and Navajoa all offering a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, including three PhD programs

The facilities and services at Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora are designed in collaboration with various departments around the university to ensure that students get the best experience possible. Such facilities and services include:

Academic tutoring – Students are offered help, support and advice regarding their personal and academic development. 

Wellbeing support – A specialized service where students are free to speak to the university in confidence regarding any matter, issue or problem.

Bookstores
– Here, students can buy textbooks for their studies and other stationery. Photocopying and printing services are available here for students and faculty to use. University embellished merchandise such as polo shirts and jumpers can also be purchased here for students to wear around the university campuses, as well as souvenirs!

Computer labs – Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora’s computer labs are equipped with the latest digital technologies including interactive classroom spaces, graphic design laboratories, as well as academic software, such as programming languages, spreadsheets and word processors.

Extra-curricular activities
– Sports, arts and cultural activities play a significant role in the student experience at Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora.
